Take on the trails of Snowdon
The UTS 50K is set deep in the heart of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, North Wales. The race begins in Llanberis, and spans 56km with 3,400m+ of elevation gain.
From the outset, runners tackle steep terrain as the route includes an ascent of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), the highest peak in Wales and then threads through the rugged trails of the Snowdon Massif.
Terrain varies from runnable sections to highly technical mountain trails, with rocky slabs and narrow ridgelines. The route weaves through classic mountain scenery, including peaks, valleys, and ridges offering both challenge and beauty in equal measure. UTS 50K acts as the perfect stepping stone into Alpine-scale mountain ultra-trail running.
MANDATORY KIT
Each participant must carry with them all the items listed in the mandatory kit checklist and take all the clothing and equipment with them during the race.
There will be randomised checks at the start line. A penalty up to disqualification will be applied to participants who do not have any of the individual mandatory kit items with them when inspected.
Due to the long duration of the event, participants should ensure their electronic devices last throughout by planning for sufficient battery life, such as using charge-on-the-go options or carrying spare batteries.
