A MESSAGE OF THANKS
Thank you to all the land owners who provide access for Ultra-Trail Snowdonia by UTMB to take place across the stunning landscapes of Eryri.
THANK YOU
The various race routes of Ultra-Trail Snowdonia travel through many parts of Eryri. The event would not be possible without the support of private land owners who grant us access to the trails in such a beautiful region of the UK.
We are grateful to the land owners who work with us to provide access to the amazing routes which Ultra-Trail Snowdonia is known for. Many of these land owners are part of the local farming community with working farms in operation during the event.
For Ultra-Trail Snowdonia to be hosted successfully, and for the benefit of all other event organisers, we ask our participants to be respectful and considerate when travelling through farmland and cooperate with the requests of local farmers.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TRAINING AND RECCES
There are three sections of the routes which travel through private farmland. We only have agreement to access these areas during the Ultra-Trail Snowdonia event weekend. Attempting to gain access at any other time of year is unauthorised and may lead to trespassing.
Gwastadanas Farm
Bron y Fedw Uchaf Farm
Garreg Fawr
Please read the information below, and the accompanying maps, to ensure you do not accidentally get caught trespassing while enjoying your training in Eryri.
GWASTADANAS FARM
Gwastadanas Farm is used as an aid station on the UTS 100M, UTS 100K and UTS 50K. This is private farmland. Participants must not travel through the farm (red dotted line), or across the private fields, as part of your training. Participants must remain on the public right of way (PROW) to the north of Gwastadanas Farm and follow the footpath to the west of the power station along the river bank of Afon Glaslyn (blue dotted line).
BRON Y FEDW UCHAF FARM
Bron y Fedw Uchaf Farm is used as an aid station on the UTS 100M, UTS 100K and UTS 50K. This area includes a large amount of private farmland to the east of the aid station. Participants must descend the Snowdon Ranger Path and remain on the public right of way (PROW) towards Maesgwm and Ty'n y Ceunant (blue dotted line). Participants must not climb the farm gates on the boundary of Open Access land and descend the hillside through the private land (red dotted line).
GARREG FAWR
After leaving the Bryn Gloch Caravan and Campsite, aid station for the UTS 100M, UTS 100K and UTS 50K, the route travels towards Garreg Fawr forrest. The route used on event weekend travels through private farmland to the south of Garreg Fawr near the disused quarry. Participants must not travel across the private fields or climb fences at Garreg Fawr (red dotted line). While training, participants must exit Bryn Gloch Caravan and Campsite towards Ystrad Isaf and travel up to Garreg Fawr forest using the public rights of way (PROW) along the hillside.
